SOMATIK SOUNDS

The idea of this music genre was to make dark and slow techno that will resemble a funeral march. These two so-called requiems have begun bearing in the form of Somatik Techno that flourished some time after both of its founders had a near-death experience: one from a heart attack as a result of a lasting rave lifestyle, while the other spent a week in coma because of a tranquilizers overdose after a bad trip. As a result, Vovapcp & Tsaritsa Logiki aka PCP, the creators of Somatik Techno, had to slow down and their music automatically decelerated together with them.
More and more artists started to find this music experiment appealing with its heavy and “rusty” groove, dark melodics and rasping bass lines. Being originated in Saint-Petersburg, Somatik Techno started gaining followers across the Russian Federation and in Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and Ireland.
Shortly after the Perforated Cerebral Party and Hertzman met in 2012, the idea to craft a new music label that will reach more people with its idiosyncratic concept emerged.

BERBERIS

Berberis – your medicinal soothing plant. Imagine a barbed bush, holding yellow blossoms and elongated, rubicund fruits. Its scent is pleasant and unparalleled. The taste of the scanty yield comes unexpectedly: sourness and bitterness combined attracts numbed creatures seeking for the so deserved redemption in the plainness of their life. Once Berberis has dissolved on your tongue, a smack will deliver you right into your personal place in heaven. Rhythmic waves of electronic music are going to set the sinner into a trance. During the ritual, the individual will find itself losing control. Just like a marionette, the chosen one is going to serve the new self, which has ripped off the ingrained mask of the habit.
The label has emerged partly from deep-house, tech-house and minimal.
We produce thought-driven rhythmic music, guaranteeing emotional intensity through low-pitched grooves. A feeling of unified consciousness and inner harmony reside in these sounds, both for music enthusiasts, as well as for the dance floor.

Mazel Source – Pepone

bg

LDRL 01

The Pepone EP is the first vinyl release of MAZEL SOURCE.
All 3 tracks represent his inner state of techno, house, dark, bumpin, with experiments of the atmospheres. He plays with big basses and create the groove using modern and bouncin rythms.
Pepone – keeps unusual feelings with a sort of new soup. No big break, but the second powerful part makes your skin filled gooseflesh.
Pinuts – is the dark sound of this EP, respecting Lethal Doses traditions. Minimalism on the rythmic structure, and fat work with ambient and psychedelia sounds on the second part.
Des Barriques – gives a bass like Flat Beat (Mr Oizo) in his best years.
It is a dancin EP, for black and wet dancefloors, for a large public between Minus fans or Soma, Marble, Frucht, and Sleaze ones, preparing to a long collaboration with LETHAL DOSE RECORDINGS.

Eiht – J&L

bg

LDRL 02

LETHAL DOSE delivers four songs on this EP all different from each other, but all aiming on the floor. EIHT gives us an original more striped down version with a huge bass and very hypnotic, metallic sounds. FELIX LORUSSO gives us a remix quite out of joint with a lightning percussion and DAEGON, true to himself shows us once again what techno is about. Energy! And finally close to the original version, KAMIKA shows us that imagination has no limit.

Joix – Mantra

bg

LDRL 03

With the 3-track EP Mantra JOIX opens a new dimension in his electronic music. For the first time he uses his own voice on a larger scale, giving it a machine-like sound that transforms and heightens the meaning of his German words.
The lead track “Mantra” refers to the techno movement in Germany in the 90s, which JOIX lived and breathed as a teenager. Those mystical experiences – staying awake all night in rooms full of light and sound – came close to the trance states attained by chanting Mantras. This is the main idea and the emotional inspiration behind this pulsating A-side track.
A touch of nostalgia also comes through “Wächter der Nacht”. This tune channels the mysterious night, the search for ecstasy and self-dissolution in music clubs protected by the “guards of night”.
Finally, “Klimax” is a dance-floor-banger that distinguishes itself by whipping up immense energy, and its space-filling melody and enormous hall cascades.

GENERAL

Artwork

The main feature of our label is artwork concept which corresponds to creative music theme/creative motives of music and key style. Every quarter or semester (next 3-6 month during the year), we create short story which includes style and motive of special elements, characterizes every release but at the same time remains a part of its story.
In our practice, artwork design is essential part of the whole record label process. The track nature and the name of musical compilation should be shown and give some introduction on the album cover. We use special font elements and designer’s graphics from around the world not infringing their copyrights.
If the work of the designers is not freely available, we inform them of licensing application for right to use in our deal. For all the designers, we take a step forward publishing their works in music industry, also on the websites where you can review and buy music of our label. Moreover, we provide you with their names on our website. It says we respect any one of them and inform they are a part of our music label. Also we clearly understand what copyright is and do not infringe any stage of this condition. For designer’s work publication, we use logo trademark and connect release of music material with album art of each release.
If you are a designer and think your creative work can become a part of Lethal Dose Recordings, please contact us! (Fill out the Contact Form).

Mastering On-Board

With the development of digital technology, the availability of Virtual Studio Technology (VST) becomes more accessible. There are variety of handling and editing of wave, voice and sound samples in home or any other mini studio. The equipment used in portable studio like a placement itself with the music being recorded isn’t perfect. It creates some bad audio field and noise ground, which can’t be completely eliminated in such conditions. Anyway, your pre-mastered copies need determinate setup of the sound on final working step.
